Karen Bedell, Consultant

Karen Bedell Consultant and co-founder of Careerstone Group, is highly skilled in the practices and methods of organizational and professional development. She adds significant value to her clients by bringing more than 20 years of business experience in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Karen's approach to organizational needs is representative of her comprehensive corporate experience coupled with the business acumen she’s acquired through her: post-graduate degree in international marketing management; involvement in Georgetown University’s Center for Professional Development Transformational Leadership Program; Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® certification; and membership in the International Coach Federation and the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network. A professional and executive coach, former Vice President of Product Development and successful consultant in both the private and public sectors, Karen is a valued partner in her clients’ organizations.

In addition to Karen’s rewarding professional career, she is proud to be the mother of two young adults.


Daphne Miller, Consultant

Daphne Miller coaching experience is grounded in her corporate experience in sales and marketing. Her 15 years with Ritz Carlton and Kinko’s corporate gave her a strong understanding of fast paced environments and managing people and resources to their fullest potential. It was during her management days she became credentialed as a coach.

Now a seasoned executive coach, Daphne has expertise in working with individuals and groups with an emphasis on leadership development, team building, facilitation and training. She specializes in leadership and team development and coaching teams and individuals during times of change and transition. Specifically, Daphne works with clients to create change that is supported by new behaviors that create sustainable change. She believes that we learn not only through language, but our emotions and bodies as well; therefore, she brings this philosophy to her coaching.

Daphne holds an ACC accreditation from the International Coach Federation. She is also certified in the Center for Creative Leadership 360 Benchmark assessment.


Ramien Pierre, Consultant

Ramien Pierre is an organizational development consultant, trainer, and executive coach. As a consultant and trainer, Ramien specializes in helping clients align their organizational goals and their human capital. A significant portion of Ramien’s coaching experience is in Entry Coaching - helping employees use their first 90 days on the job to ensure their fantastic success at work. Ramien uses his knowledge as a Myers-Briggs Type® Indicator practitioner in his organizational development work.

Ramien has 13 years of experience working in not-for-profit organizations, including 5 years as the Administrator for Education at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Haverford College where he also minored in Peace Studies. Ramien went on to earn Master’s Degrees from Brown University and Harvard University in Social Studies Teaching and Mind-Brain Education respectively. Presently, he is a doctoral candidate in Human and Organizational Learning at The George Washington University.

Having worked with young people from grades four through college, Ramien has been something of an education journeyman. He has worked as a history teacher, volleyball coach (of two championship teams), dean of students (twice!), camp counselor, director of a college office of multicultural affairs, youth mentor, and youth leadership program co-chair.


Sheppard Lake, Consultant

Sheppard Lake works with corporations in the area of Organizational Development. As a consultant, facilitator and coach, Sheppard specializes on authentic leadership, employee engagement and the people side of change management. Her expertise and style allow her to guide individuals and teams on a journey of self discovery to increase effectiveness and improve results. Certified in both the Birkman Personality Assessment and Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Sheppard can work with people to help them gain greater self-awareness, a critical aspect of leadership effectiveness.

Sheppard has held professional and leadership positions in small boutique firms to Fortune 500 companies. Her background is varied and includes sales, marketing, event planning, recruiting, and training.

A native of North Carolina, Sheppard received a Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics in Organizational and Social Psychology. Her areas of focus were Psychology of Gender and Psychology of Leadership. In addition, she graduated cum laude from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing and Minor in Psychology.
